In the Fall of 2000, desperate in my search to find a Christmas ornament that my Mom didn't have, I decided to make my own! Putting pen to paper late at night, then drafting onto the computer the next morning the first design was finished -- Innsbruck. I made the first drakesflake that same morning, carefully finished it, and then boxed it for Christmas 2000.

The following year for Christmas 2001, Mom asked me to make 2 or 3 more designs. I created a few more for her, but also asked some local shop owners what they thought of these ornaments. The reaction was so positive that I realized others may enjoy them as much as we do! So, one thing led to another and here we are with 60 designs!
